On the 6th of December The D2 Mavs Played the UTA Movin Mavs. The Mavericks started out with an early lead of 19-14. But UTA couldn't come back to beat the Alumni, they exposed their weaknesses, being pressed, and keeping there tall guys out of the paint. There is definitely something that they will be working on in practice. This weekend was also a learning experience for players that will be there next year since they played the entire tournament without their lead guard Tyler Garner. The players David Wilkes and James Patin really showed leadership this weekend, and let us know that there will be nothing to worry about on that front. They finished the tournament 3-1.

Dallas also finished 3-1 after losing their final game to Florida in the last few minutes. They just couldn't stop the team with two former mavericks, Paul Schulte and Jason Van Beek. Even with Jason Nelms playing in this tournament. Notable UTA Alumni that were spotted at the tournament were Steven Welch, Willie Hernandez, Jason Van Beek, Eddie McGee, Paul Schulte, Meghan Schulte, Ryan Hundermer, Enoch Albohr, Bobbie Nickelberry, TK Dannelley, Danny Fik, Darlene Hunter, Jon Ryberg, Mark Knoblach, and Cesar Olivas to name a few. The support of alumni shows you that even though there gone from school, UTA still isn't far from there hearts.
